Process Re-engineering Committee
A process re-engineering committee
was formed by the Department of Commerce, which has submitted
its report for streamlining the processes leading to effective
and efficient information flow between Customs, AAI, Ports,
DGFT and their associated agencies. The report becomes basis
for adoption by participating departments for implementation.
Technical Assessment Group
This group under the Department of
Commerce assesses the messages / sub sets of UNEDIFACT standard
developed by various agencies/organisations in India and
is responsible for finalisation / publishing / circulation
of directories.
Sub committee on UN/LOCODE
In
order to facilitate electronic transactions between various
agencies within and outside the country, it has become necessary
to review the location codes of Ports / Airports / ICDs
/ CFSs / ACCs as per UN requirements. A committee has been
constituted a Sub Committee under Technical Assessment Group
for finalisation of the location codes for Ports / Airports
/ ICDs / CFSs / ACCs etc.

Committee on Net-banking
In order to facilitate electronic transactions
between banks and its users like importers / exporters /
trade & industry / general users / trade facilitation
organisations etc, it has become necessary for all banks
to develop web-based interface for electronic transactions,
integrating international standards and practices. The system
would provide an efficient, cost effective and time saving
solution for the electronic transactions especially for
the SMEs. A standing committee has been constituted to formalise,
guide and monitor net-banking solutions operationalisation
by banks.
