Welcome to AFACT 2009

I am pleased to invite you all to participate in the 27th Meeting of the Asia Pacific Council for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (AFACT), EDICOM 2009, eAC and 2009 eASIA Awards on behalf of AFACT and the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

AFACT aims to promote trade facilitation and electronic business policies and activities in the Asia Pacific region, which has helped member countries in taking various initiatives to streamline businesses using standards/ recommendations promoted by UN/CEFACT.

The 27th AFACT meetings and related events during 2-6 November 2009 would provide a platform to share experiences as a significant number of well known international experts will be present at these meetings, which would encourage discussion, research and development, joint projects in all areas of Trade Facilitation and eBusiness.

I am sure that these meetings would attract a large number of delegates from member countries and economies because the event’s theme for AFACT 2009, “Promoting Access, Equality, Reliability and Growth of Trade Facilitation & eBusiness in the Region”, is designed to create an outward focus for member to work in cooperation with each other to achieve common goals of Trade Facilitation and eBusiness. The location, New Delhi, selected for these meetings provides the right ambience for detailed discussions in a relaxed environment.
